The word SUBMISSION
has many meanings, but in the martial arts, submission is defined as
the ability to submit an opponent through whatever technique works.
It could be a punch or strike, a kick or a grappling technique that
makes an opponent submit or tap out.
The Mixed Martial Arts have become so popular that the athletes
involved in the sport are finding the that super conditioning and
cross training is the only way to stay ahead of the game.
IN THE BEGINNING
In Japan, Al Baffert (Stranger Lewis' buddy) a professional wrestler
coined the word "killer wrestling". Since that time other wrestling
names have risen to popularity such as "Jiu-Jitsu", Combat
Grappling", Submission Wrestling", "New Judo", "Sambo" and "Groundfighting".
It is still wrestling!
The various technique used within each of the above are known as
"finishing holds". Virtually every body part can become vulnerable
to attack via a finishing hold. The opportunities are endless.
Modern day combatants are using refined grappling and submission
holds and locks to create a new super sport which is derived from
the oldest sport known to man. Through the development of advanced
"balance disturbance" and submission techniques, fighters of the
future have added new dimensions to the fight game. Consequently, a
new extreme sport is being introduced to the extreme audience.
